What is LGC Homeschool Co-op?

The LGC Homeschool group offers classes in the form of a learning cooperative or “co-op” for short. A learning co-op is a group of homeschooling families that work together to teach classes for the children. The classes offered are for the purpose of enriching and complementing your homeschool and are not meant to be a substitute for the learning your children do at home.  The nature of a co-op involves a commitment and contributions from each family, but the rewards received are well worth it!

LGC Co-op Philosophy and Mission

The Living Gospel Church Homeschool Co-op desires to provide an educational environment that supports and encourages homeschooling families in their obedience to God's calling in their lives. We desire to build a deeply connected community of families and cultivate an environment where we foster a love of learning and, most importantly, a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This is a cooperative effort where each family will play a part in providing this environment, while showing love and grace to each other (Ephesians 4:32).

We are a Christian co-op that believes in and teaches the Bible (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:2), the Trinity (John 1:1), and salvation through Jesus Christ (John 3:16). We will not tolerate or entertain any teachings contrary to the Living Gospel Church’s Statement of Faith (see page 9).

The LGC Co-op accomplishes the above goals through activities such as, but not limited to, conducting and assisting others in class settings, leading field trips, and other educational programs that may fall under one of these categories:
  • providing Christian students the opportunity to learn through a Biblical lens by teaching theologically sound and pastor-approved curriculum
  • providing Christian students the opportunity to learn in a community of fellow believers
  • providing Christian students the opportunity to be challenged and shaped by peers who are also seeking to follow the Lord as they grow intellectually, spiritually, and emotionally
  • providing Christian students the opportunity to extend grace and forgiveness to others in emulation of the grace and forgiveness Christ has lavished upon us

What does a day at co-op look like?

Students are divided into different classes by their age and will follow a similar schedule:
9:00-9:30 Morning Gather
9:30-10:15 Class 1
10:15-11:10 Class 2 + Snack
11:15-12:00 Class 3
